Barristers Animal Welfare Foundation

The Foundation is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission and was established as a trust separate from the Panel for general fundraising and transacting of monies. The Panel does not handle monies.

The Panel is a national body promoting the welfare of animals by intervening direct with counsel and solicitors in the courts to save animals or challenge the exploitation of their vulnerability, whether by industry, government, a research institution or municipal council. It is an active advocate of law reform and arranges the defence of protestors.

The distinguishing feature of the Panel is that it is not confined to public education campaigns: it is proactive with the legal armoury to intervene to potentially stop or affect a threat to the welfare or lives of animals, whether a single life or by the thousands or millions.

If you wish to support the groundbreaking work of BAWP, you can become a member of the Barristers Animal Welfare Panel Foundation by paying 3 instalments of $34 at 4 monthly intervals (after the 1st instalment) or by a single payment of $100 (waged) or $34 (unwaged/concession).

If paying by instalments, please note an additional $2 is charged to defray bank charges.

Members will receive quarterly updates from the Panel on the work that they are doing.
